Has anyone else had technical issues with their Vodafone TV box recently? Over the last few weeks I've had an increasing number of "Connection Lost" errors while watching Free to Air channels.

I'm using a wired connection and other streaming devices connected to the same switch is working fine.

I’ve had a lot of jittering and freezing every evening for the past week or so. Some programmes have been unwatchable.

However, I’ve found that if a programme is jittering, if I just hit record and watch it from the recording, it’s then usually OK.

We only ever watch recorded and on demand content, so no problems!
On reflection, 'recorded' content is streamed from Vodafone's servers ... I'm not at all sure what this jittering of live TV actually means - I guess a stream of live TV from Vodafone's servers will have more demand than streaming a previously recorded program from their storage caches.

It is a complicated business. I can see what Vodafone is getting out of it, and why Sky is taking so long to try to get ti right. All the best to those of you hanging out for the Sky solution!
We have found NextPVR with Kodi frontend works well maybe 80% then sometimes doesn't.

Decided to apply for the reimbursement for my Vodafone TV unit. I went to the web site vtv.nz and filled out my particulars as requested, but when I enter my bank account number it keep asking for "Please enter a valid Bank account number" no matter how many times I enter the number I keep getting the same request about entering a valid bank account number. The bank account number I enter is the same number I use to pay bills and receive payment.

I'm no longer with Vodafone so I can't get A credit on a Vodafone account.

Is there anyone with Vodafone on this forum that could assist me please.

Have you tried making the suffix a 3 digit number by adding a zero?  Have found some sites that don't accept only 2 digits.

If the suffix is 30 then make it 030 if it is 00 then make it 000

Agree have been having issues all week about the same time. Changing channels and changing back fixes it for a bit but then comes back

You do wonder if they are hoping it survives until the 30th Sept without spending too much money on it.

This a possible replacement for Vodafone TV for free to air channels using Google TV:

@GeekGuy told me that according to this web page https://ahaan.co.uk/article/top_stories/pvr-live-record-pause-live-tv-android-tv
".... Tivimate is still lacking features such as recording, PVR Live allows you to pause live TV and record any upcoming TV Shows and Movies from your IPTV Provider...."

This encouraged me to have a Play with PVR Live and I have been able to get it to pause live TV, and record future programs to an SMB share on a Windows 10 PC, from which it can be played, as follows:

Using Matt Huismans m3u8 file for NZ Raw TV as the play list.

What you need to to to do is share a folder, that is not a part of a cloud drive shuch as One Drive, in Windows 10 on a hard drive by right clicking on it and selecting properties, and sharing. You can share it to "everyone" by adding "everyone" as user and giving it Read/Write permission.

Then create a local user by right clicking on the Microsoft Icon in the lower left corner, selecting computer management, local Users, Users, right click in the users, and specify a new user with a user name and password and unticking user must change password at first logon. If you prefer you can share the folder to just this one user.

Then in PVRLive in Recording and Schedules under settings,DVR, DVR Location, specify the host name, with smb://hostname or smb://ipaddress, of the computer on which you have defined the user  and share the user name and password and the host name as the domain. Then navigate to the share at the host and select it, and click on done.

Also in Recording and schedules under Timeshift specify the same smb share location as Timeshift buffer location so as to provide support for pausing live TV and have the ability to fast forward.

If you are using the ip address of the computer it is best to reserve the address in DHCP on your router as a fixed IP address so that it does not change in the future.

This would be worthy of its own thread, I think.
