niekerkj: I seem to have dropped off the email list and have not received any communication from Sky regarding the switch from VTV. I have received my refund from Vodafone. Anyone else had this issue and managed to resolve it? I don't want to miss out on any offers. Cheers

I signed into my Sky account and it looks like the offer is 10% off your Sky subscription for 12 months if you buy a new box.

right.... so if you're on the simple plan of $50.99/month, that's a benefit of $60 paid. Which people are being charged $100.

Or I suppose people can just drop sky and benefit from $611.88 not being spent over the same 12 months, and buy an anything else.

I guess if you had all the Sky packages the discount would cover the cost of the pod over a year.

I still don't get why we need to pay upfront for devices we do not own, can't use unless we pay Sky and need to return if we cancel?

Is today is the last day of the VF box? Or does it have more life?

Well thats a happy surprise! I wasn't looking forward to losing the time shifting ability.

Well, sounds like someone didn't get the memo about VTV being extended to 30 November.

Wife at home said VTV went down at 1pm in our house

Have power cycled the whole kit and Confirmed TV has net.

At time of writing, still down

Just tried here, two VTVs are ok and one won't boot up, it shows a grey Vodafone logo then goes blank.  I can see three possibilities:

  1. They are progressively shutting them down.
  2. They are not doing what is need to keep them running.
  3. They just don't like people like me and @WyleECoyoteNZ.

Oh, well, it wasn't like we weren't expecting it and the warning time given has been enough to get alternative solutions in place.

I could be wrong but wasn't it only the users that has Sky TV channels that got extended to October 31st and then November 30th?

And users that only had free to air TV channels were still shutting down September 30th?

The last email I got about the extension to November 30 came from Sky rather than from Vodafone.

I could be barking up entirely the wrong tree, but I did wonder if Vodafone might be handing over the support of the service to Sky today?

Edited to add: I've just tried my vtv, and it isn't working either. I do subscribe to Sky channels.

Mine is still working, with Sky channels, certainly won't be restarting it to see if it's still working though 😂

Both my devices stopped working today early afternoon...switching off/on with the remote wasn't enough to get them running. They were claiming no internet, when the internet was definitely working fine for other stuff. I wondered if they'd reached the end of the road. Thankfully removing the power and plugging it back in got them going.
