@olof This works incredibly well! Thanks!

Now just have to program TV shortcuts on my remote :)

I have my Logitech Hub on-top of the entertainment unit. IR blaster where the devices are (including the Vodafone TV) and it is working great.

Now - two things :) - Multiroom (because I have 2 more Vodafone TV's sitting here) and also The Cheese!

Exactly. Always takes a bit of time to get the shortcuts and activities set-up exactly how you want it!

Multi-room: target launch date is 25 November. Not too far away.

The Cheese: @zollymonsta how are you going with this? :-)

Out of curiosity, what advantages will Bluetooth bring over IR integration with Harmony? Any possibility of directly launching apps from a soft button on the Ultimate or app?

Senecio: Out of curiosity, what advantages will Bluetooth bring over IR integration with Harmony? Any possibility of directly launching apps from a soft button on the Ultimate or app?

I think the main advantage is lower latency with BLE, and potentially better reliability. Having said that, I find the latency and reliability with the Harmony IR integration to be absolutely spot on.

At this stage, there is no way of launching an app directly, as the VodafoneTV does not have IR commands associated with individual apps. However, you could program your own Harmony sequence that performs something along the lines of:

  • Exit (to ensure you are not in the menu already)
  • Menu (the UI focus should now be the top tile in MY TV rail)
  • Right, Right, Right (UI focus is now on Netflix)
  • Down, Down, Down, Down (UI focus is now on YouTube)
  • Ok

Set inter-key delay of VodafoneTV device to 500ms, or add delays to sequence to allow UI to keep up with commands. Then, assign the above to a Harmony remote button and this should allow you to launch YouTube with a single click. Same thing for other apps.

There will actually be IR codes added for some of the apps in a future release, but that is something that is not coming until next year. We will update Harmony integration with these codes of course once we have them.

It's great work by the V TV team that it is now on the Logitech database.  So far working ok on a Logitech Harmony 350.

Could be a new issue to report, 3 times today so far the tv channel would just freeze for a moment then go blank. Normally I can just channel up then down to get it going again but this time it threw the error "connection was lost". Tried a channel up and down again and it started again.

That has been happening on our device for a few weeks. It is happening to the Freeview and Sky channels.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

This is exactly the same with us. We did a hard reset and eventually it started, but all in all it took about 10 minutes of playing around to watch last nights MasterChef.

Notified our operations team and they are looking into any CDN or CMS glitches this evening. Thanks for reporting.

VF Box is nearly bloody unusable right now. Every time you try to change freeview channels you get "Channel not subscribed". Only by using the channel selector button on the remote and going up and down, do you eventually get the channel to load.

How are you connected? Wifi or Ethernet?
