Fog: Can I ask what the termination fee was?.
bmani:OK. Well I hope you have more luck with whatever you are goingFog: Can I ask what the termination fee was?.
I think it was $140 something plus
Hifarion: @ bmani - Did they say why you had to pay an early termination fee even though their product wasn't living up to its end of the contract??
Reason I ask, my wife had a melt down today when the movie we were replaying froze after the machine started to record something else. She wasn't worried about the movie we were watching, but she knew we had lost the program it had begun to record.... She had daggers in her eyes!
Add that the "not subscribed" and "CONFIDENTIAL", and she's had enough.
The problem is, that these have only happened in the last week. Upto now, its been 85% ok.
She wants MySky, and I can no longer fight TCL battle for them without the potential for divorce!!!!

I know its only one of the reasons you give, but wouldn't MySky show CONFIDENTIAL too as its the same data being provided to MySky and TBox decoders and the issue is with TVNZ/MediaWorks pretending that people shouldn't know these things? (Or does MySky update more regularly?)?
MySky does update more often, although sometimes the data still says "CONFIDENTIAL" right up until airing so it wouldn't help. The T-Box seems to fetch programming data once and then keep it permanently, even if it's changed (or if not permanently, until well after it's changed on Telstra's online version and Sky's schedule). You can restart the box and it will download the week's schedule again with whatever data is current at the time, which often gets you immediate/ten-minutes-of-waiting schedule changes.

crackrdbycracku: Hi,
I'm considering a Tbox, currently a TC broadband customer in Wellington but now out of contract so I figure I'll see what they will offer me to stay.
Does anybody have anything good to say about the things or should I just pay for a TiVo or look at other options?
Garfield69: Has anyone ever had their TBOX forget a recording's starting point?
This has happened to me on Tuesday and Wednesday, under similar circumstances at about the same time of the evening.
Here are the details:
I have been recording the Australian Open Tennis on Sky Sports 3 using a series link recording.
The daily coverage is in two segments, the first begins at 1pm and lasts until 9pm, the second from 9pm and going to 2am.
I have a 10 minute buffer enabled, and during the tennis grand slams I boot the TBOX every couple days at 6am.
It's approximately 8.30pm. The 1pm Tennis program is still recording, and since 7.20pm the other tuner is busy recording too.
I have watched just over half of the tennis recorded so far, (about 4.5 hours into the recording),
when the screen briefly goes black then returns to the planner.
When I select that recording again, I don't get the option to resume, it just starts playing from the start...
Except, the TBOX's bookmark of the start of the recording begins from the time of the glitch, at 8.30pm, not at 1pm.
This morning after the reboot I examined the program details. INFO shows 480 minutes, 1pm-9pm, but only the last 50 minutes are available to view. What the #$&@!
Tonight I will stop viewing tennis after 8pm and wait until after 9pm to view the rest.
Telstraclear, is this a known bug?
Wait, the next release will fix it yes?![]()
