I don't think so... cause I was complaining plenty before my connection came back to something usable... tho, I've seen some packets dropping too in the traceroute I've left running for the last two and a bit hours...

Still, I'm yet to drop a packet to 216.239.41.5 - Now I just need everything I want from the internet to be hosted on that device ;)

r2b2: Ok that's weird - almost the moment after posting the prior message everything just snapped back into shape (that is websites started responding and packets stopped being dropped at random)

Does Vodafone have a filter to check for people complaining about their connection and it fixes itself? :)

I just had exactly the same experience. Speed tests are wildly inconsistent too. One minute maxing out at 11Mbps, the next it's 35Mbps. The only thing consistent is it's much slower than what I'm paying for. Vodafone have one day, I'm not holding out much hope.

No - I think it's because of the time of night - the end of peak hour(s) when performance normally improves - until the next night undecided.

As shown in the hourly TrueNet cable stats for Wellington:

Probably should note that I've never* had this issue before in that I've been using my PC doing roughly the same stuff for a the last few weeks with no issues like this.

(* well perhaps once or twice but not recently :) )

You are very lucky - many of us have had this problem almost every night for several weeks undecided

My (Island Bay) connection is monitored hourly by TrueNet, and this shows that the onset and resolution of the evening performance dip is typically quite sudden, and follows a very predictable time pattern, as shown in the graph.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon ...

Sorry - didn't mean to make it sound like it was rubbing something in your face, was more just pointing out that potentially it was a different issue to the congestion one due to the fact that it hasn't been an ongoing issue :)

Definitely hope that all the issues can be fixed however based on people's experiences it seems to be looking more like there's a few issues all playing up together so wonder if just node upgrades are going to fix the issue...

skennedy: Thx folks - when I asked for a schedule, I meant a real schedule!  ie listing all nodes, what's completed, what's coming up, etc.  Even estimates.

Why do you care when other nodes are scheduled?

Either way, your best bet is to ask Dylan which node you're on and when you may see an upgrade.

One interesting thing if this existed would be to see how close they are to completion. As very few people are coming back to announce their positive experiences we only hear the complaints. If we saw that there is 1 day remaining and only 5 nodes left to be upgraded you could surmise that the upgrade targets were going to be met.

Mines a lot better, but still dropping to 15Mbps or so at 9.30 at night.  Low pings tho and most things work

New list!
W03 Burma
W09,W11,W40 Kapiti
WKK,W13,W92,W93 Avalon
W90 Miramar
W12 Wainuiomata/Lower Hutt

But I have a feeling they have mixed up W12 and W40 as I am connected to W40 and am in Wainuiomata.

Same. Apparently I'm on node W93 but I'm in Kapiti.

Regardless, we have had a 1-2 hour outage in the past 5-10 minutes but I think we have been upgraded.

Well this is a shout-out to Vodafone technical support who helped me out, and ever so politely helped me sort out my issues in Christchurch. My speed issue was my own fault, total stupidity and was related to a throttling setting inadvertently set on my router. Thanks for the help, and humble apologies for wasting your time!   Apparently all of ChCh is all done, certainly my 100mbs+ speeds reflect that. Thanks Dylon and Dave(?)

Looks like my node was just cut over given I got disconnected for a bit and have just managed to get back on.

Have noticed a massive drop in speed, I was able to get 120 - 128Mbps down and 10Mbps up before it went down and now I am barely breaking 30Mbps down. Another thing is my downstream channels on the modem have gone down from 8 to 1 and upstream channels have gone from 2 to 1. Is this normal?

Have you restarted your cable modem? It might either be that or perhaps work is still ongoing whilst they tidy things up on your node?
