In future you can simply sign into My Vodafone (Desktop Version) Hover over ''Your Plan'' Click ''Plan & Add Ons'' and under ''Your Add ons'' it will say $10 Exclusive Discount

$20 Exclusive discount etc and this way you can tell when you change your plan if the discount add on has been removed without having to wait for your next bill.

Hi folks,

I've just wrapped up a few day-long discussion with Vodafone on the new plans and how customers that are still on contract under old plans can move to the new data allowances.

The good news is that after a really proactive discussion with the Vodafone retention team, there is a way to do this without paying a fee.

In the terms and conditions of the contract, existing contract customers are able to change plans/packages by paying a plan transfer fee. This fee is 50% of the difference in cost between the new and old plans. Plans that are costlier or the same price are free to transfer. I was on a Red+ plan paying $129.99, and the new plan costs the same, so eventually, after the involvement of a really helpful manager in the retentions team, Vodafone came back to agree that the contract does allow me to transfer without (a) resigning; (b) paying a resign fee; or (c) paying anything to transfer to the new $129.99 plan with 30GB.

I understand that they are going to do some comms internally to let sales teams know that this can be done for others looking to transfer.

I'm obviously a bit nervous sharing this experience verbatim, but I feel confident enough that this is black and white in the contract to share. More importantly, I want to give Vodafone a lot of credit in entertaining my persistent pushing. At no time were they unwilling to engage or did they shut me down. So +1 to Vodafone for its proactive approach. They've definitely retained my business for a while yet.

...and the changeover has happened. I'm assuming the extra data is because test drive gets automatically added in the first month of a new plan.

You should see the test drive bundle under addons as well

I'm stuck on the old $149 red+ super (15gb data) for the next 1.5 years. Looks like the new plans give an extra 15 gig for $20 less that I can't get because I'm stuck on contract.

Very dissapointed. They wont even give me more data to compensate.

As per my post this is something you can ask for within your contract. Ask specifically for a plan transfer. The contract is clear is explaining that this is permitted.

The retention team supported my shift. I had 11 months left on my contract. You may have to pay 50% of the difference between your current plan and the new plan cost if your current plan is more expensive.
