I switched from 200MB down to 100MB over the weekend - and now i've lost my data. iPhone 3G on YouChoose.

So, A couple of questions. First: Should this work with the standard iPhone APN like my 200MB dataplan did? It'd be nice if I didn't have to change it, although changing it isn't an issue.

And second: It still doesn't work even when I DO change my apn (I've tried www.vodafone.net.nz and internet - still nothing). So is this more likely to be a fault with the iPhone being stubborn or something didn't go right with my change at vodafone.

My assumption at this point is that it's a vodafone issue - because I can't see any other mention of iPhone users having issues on the boards... Anyone have broadband lite working on iPhone?

Indeed, thanks John.

For future readers: You will need to change your APN. iPhone APN gives an 'Authentication Failure'. Instructions for changing it are in the vodafone FAQs.

As happy as I am that this plan is out... I'm still looking at other countries and thinking we're really getting ripped.

I'd love to see Mobile broadband way more competitive with fixed line broadband.

Anyway... it's all a step in the right direction... eventually we'll get there and this is just what I need for my iPhone ATM.

IMHO I think this should be priced at $15. a 1GB for $20 and a 3GB for $30 (or something like that).

This way most people would ramp up to the most expensive plan and probably only use <100MB most of the time.

Further more, I noticed on the mobile broadband plans page, that the 'Broadband Pro 3GB' plan has been removed (from mobile plans, not PC)...seems a step backwards, very disapointing.

You mean the Broadband Pro plan that's here? 3GB for $70, plus another 3GB for $10 more? That's pretty competitive. They're still for sale.

Mobile broadband won't be replacing fixed line broadband for the big users any time soon. It's simply too expensive. A MB on fixed line is a fraction of the price of a MB on mobile.
