Hi Vodafone employees,

I would like to add Sky Basic to my Vodafone TV for the next 3 months while I attempt to finally wean my darling daughters off Sky and on to on-demand.  After speaking with 4 different people (three of whom couldn't help, was in the wrong department or trying to get me to sign up to a new internet plan and have a technician replace the box), finally a CSR said I could add Sky Basic but that I would have to sign up to Sky for a minimum of 12 months and that there would be a $200 early cancellation charge.

I don't understand why this is necessary as an existing customer.  I have had internet and phone for 10 years.  I upgraded to T-Box/Vodafone TV around 3 years ago and at the time had Sky Basic - I know it's not a technology issue (certainly don't need a technician to come to the house) so why can't I add Sky Basic on a short term basis?  I can add or remove Movies, sport or SoHo at whim so why do I need to sign up to a 12 month contract when I'm already a Vodafone customer?  There is no additional cost to Vodafone, I already have the box and connections up and running, so why the tie in?

Many thanks in advance.

Procrastination eventually pays off.

That's done now. The Vodafone TV on Freeview has been switched to SKY Basic.
