Hey guys, so I recently upgraded my broadband speed from Vodafone fibre 200/20 to fibre Max. Speedtest shows I'm getting 930mbps down and 472 up, However my download speed on steam and origin has decreased. When I was on my 200mbps down fibre plan, my steam download speed would stay at a constant 24MB/s. Now on Fibre Max steam and origin reaches a peak download speed of 8.5MB/s. I have checked all my steam and origin settings but nothing seems to work. And my steam folder is set to download to my SSD.

edit - I am currently using Vodafone's new ultra hub router .

Thanks for your help :)

The Ultra Hub supposedly has a feature called 'Secure DNS' which presumably redirects all DNS queries to Vodafone's servers even though you may have set your PC to e.g. Google Public DNS. Different DNS servers may return different server addresses for CDNs and this can affect performance.

As for VoIP I believe that is provisioned based on the serial number of the modem. You may need to contact them if you wish to use your HG659 for VoIP but I think they are quite keen to move everyone onto the newer Ultra Hub.
