A new Vodafone TV to be launched by Vodafone in September.

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/technology/news/article.cfm?c_id=5&objectid=12255644

This article mentions a soft launch this week and a unit price of $179.

How do I swap my existing Vodafone TV box for this newer one... and at what price?

rugrat: Hi Sansom, Does the Vodafone TV do Dolby Digital 5.1 for Sky, And free to air and the recordings as well?

Yes, if the content contains 5.1, with the latest software it does. (Gen 1 & Gen 2)

Smithy47:

Some info I found which some may find to be helpful for some users to combine TV and VTV.  Also to control the Volume.

To Pair your VodafoneTV Remote with your TV

  1. Turn on your TV that you wish to pair with
  2. Press and hold the Yellow and OK buttons on your remote until the Power button blinks green twice
  3. Point the remote towards your TV
  4. Press and hold the Power button on your remote until your TV turns off (this may take up to 30 seconds), then release the Power button
  5. The LED will indicate its progress by a long green blinking
  6. Press the Power button to turn your TV back on

To Reset your remote control

  1. Press and hold the Blue and Menu buttons until the Power button blinks green twice
  2. Press 9 four times, the Power button will blink green each time you press 9

After the fourth time, the Power button will blink Red four times and your remote will be back to it's original state

I’m having all sorts of problems getting this to work.

When starting step 2, should the VTV be on or off?

Our VTV is behind our TV and we are relying on VTV remote’s BT functionality to operate the VTV. Do the above steps work if we’re wanting the TV to respond to the VTV remote’s IR and the VTV to respond to its BT? Or is this some sort of CEC arrangement?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
