Is there an ETA for when Vfone NZ is linking up with their worldwide networks to block blacklisted handsets?  I heard it was late this year or early 2007?

This is good news

But going to cause many issues for people that don't know they have stolen handsets from overseas

It's great news for legitimate re-sellers of Vodafone handsets but it's going to be horrible for those who have dodgy phones.  I am an advocate of purchasing the real-deal from approved sources even if it does cost an arm and a leg.  At least it won't come back to haunt you.

Literally as soon as it goes live ALL blacklisted handsets will die NEVER to be revived.  It will be a good time to get into a Vodafone franchised store...though you'd get a fair amount of slack too.

Hmmm, ah well.  Let the games begin!

Time to resell them onto the next GSM market thats not linked to the international market. I can see a flood of cheap handsets heading to some pacific nations. (Do they use GSM? Run by Vodafone?)
