Long story short:

I have a work phone and I'm sick of clients ringing me direct (and leaving voicemails!)

Can I change something on my TC service so instead of calls to my TC mobile voicemail, they go to my works helpdesk number.

If it helps I have a custom 4.1 Android ROM running on my Galaxy

thanks,
Tom

edit: I understand personal calls I may get will go to the helpdesk, but none of my friends would dare leave a voicemail ;) - they would just text if I didn't answer

Why not just set up a call divert rather than the call going to voicemail?

If you were with Vodafone you could configure the 0 "personal secretary" option from the voicemail greeting to divert the call to another number.

TCL have this as well, it's in their user guide.

Phone App

Menu

Call Settings > Call Forwarding > Voice Call

from here you have the network base settings for Always, Busy, Unanswered or Unreachable (eg when phone is off network)

Most operators class these type diversions as Call Forwards, meaning you pay your standard per minute rate for the diverted call.

This is exactly what I wanted!

Thank you very much.

We have free calling from our worklines to our cells with TC so this is perfect.

This doesn't necessarily mean call diverts will be free though.

Yep, exactly what Steve said. Most operator plans do NOT zero-rate call diverts - you need to check with the bill payer and the account rep before you make any changes!
