I've noticed that when I download files from netload.in via my work connection (Vodafone ADSL) I get much faster speeds than when I do the same at home (TelstraClear ADSL).  At work I get 200KB/s and at home I get about 20KB/s (up to 50KB/s if I'm lucky).

I know that factors such as time of day will affect download speeds, but is it possible for two ISP's to have different routes to a site and one route is faster than another?

My connection at home can achieve 200KB/s downloads from other sites, so I don't think it's anything on my end.

A tracert from work looks like this:

Note the above makes sense as the server seems to be based in Germany. Perhaps something related to an old discussion here where another user had problems with European servers?

So Vodafone and TC are definitely using a different route. Is there anything I can do about this to improve my speeds to netload.in over TC? Or is it just to do with the arrangements TC has and I have to live with it?

Netload performance has always been pretty rough for me on slingshot, telecom or vodafone.

Probably the only solution is to use their premium service and do multi threaded downloads

I'm currently downloading from netload.in at 220KB/s via Vodafone.  I consistently get speeds around this mark on Vodafone, it's just TC where it's very slow.
