We’ve just moved house on Friday and moved our (Naked) DSL with Vodafone too.  The router reports a 12.5-13.2 connection but the speed is dire in ‘real life’.  I have tried with and without a splitter (slower with splitter) and rebooting the router but nothing seems to make a difference.  Is there a problem with the VF network, or is it there something I can do to try and troubleshoot?  Any ideas?

Cheers

Andy

The speedtest result can be affected by many factors.

1) Roughly where are you?

2) Was that test conducted via wired, or WiFi connection to your modem?

3) Local or overseas server?

Modem line stats are the only thing of any relevence here, not speedtest.net results. You will need to post these.

Yep line stats please, voda's network both ULL and wholesale currently has plenty of capacity as I understand it, so sounds like we need to understand your actual connection first.

OK,
Hopefully this covers the questions asked - thanks for your help in advance.

Modem: Vodafone supplied HG556a
Software version: V100R001C12B037
(same hardware was fine at previous house)
Location: Nelson
We moved in on 7th Dec

The server for the speed test was in ChCh I think but it keeps changing location.

I have ran another speed test just now which got 3.15 down and 0.75 up but the last couple of days it has been at the level of the OP.

Here are the stats from the modem - if there are any others that are helpful, let me know where to find them.

These stats are around 5-10 mins after a reboot - can post more later if it makes any difference.

At a glance, the stats look OK.

Haven't hit the data cap and been throttled had you?

No, 0.22GB of 100GB used.  The stats I posted were agh the time I got 3.15 D/L speed but it is slow more often than not.

Just by way of an update it all seems to have sorted itself out.  After I had a TXT to say I should be fully up and running (on Monday) it has sped up to the speeds I’d have expected.  ‘Speedtest’ also seems to see our location correctly now - not sure that’s relevant or not.

Cheers
