Hi all can anyone tell me if you use the same exchange even if you change ISP?..Just wondering I've just changed over from Xtra to Xnet and my Downstream has gone from 2800/3100 to only 567 etc..It has only happened since the change over.
I'm on the River Plan and I'm hopping I haven't made a mistake?

Yes, you will still be on the same exchange.

It sounds like you've been put on the Stream (256kbps) plan by mistake.  Not good... Frown

I hope its only something small like that the only reason I changed was I use to be a Go Sucker user..lol..Thanks for the info I have sent an email but so far no reply:(

Excessive use of bold, like CAPITALS generally is considered shouting. And people don't generally shout at others unless they are having hearing difficulties or are angry. I'm not trying to come down on you or 'over moderate' but its just a FYI kind of tip. ;) 

Grantis suggestion is probably the case. Check with World Exchange to see if you are on the right plan and that your port profile is correct. 
If those are correct - then looking at things like interleaving (which may or may not be a factor) or any recent changes that you've made to the line. 

Just out of interest - are you getting ADSL drop outs? Or is the downstream rate just slower? 
I'll stop here before I get accused of being a pro-Xtra troll again.

First of all I have been using the internet since it was first introduced to the public of NZ. And yes bold can be interpreted as shouting but not in this context as I was only asking a question, and my bad but we live in a world wide web where protocol has no stand or limit so why would someone even waste their time answering with that for?..I said I emailed them did I say I sent it in bold?..Thankyou and no I'm not getting smart but I asked a genuine question I didn't expect a smart answer and thats all that was:)
Secondly my downstream is slow no drop outs.

In case you don't understand, I am pointing out to you that in our forum usage guidelines, we do have a statement that "Do not SHOUT. Do not post subject in ALL CAPITALS;". Although it is said "ALL CAPITALS", however bold text is also considered as shouting as Cokemaster pointed out.



Sure I did not give the answer you are seeking for, but I am here to moderate and to carry out the forum moderation.



You can ask your question without the need to bold your whole post, did you know that?

The equipment you connect to at the exchange etc doesn't change when you move provider so we definitely need to get things looked at.  You won't be on the wrong plan as some have suggested as you wouldn't be getting 567 on the Stream plan.

I don't know what your username etc is so if you could send an email through to help@xnet.co.nz attention Wendy I will get this looked at for you. :)
