I'm a Wellington TelstraClear cable internet user and I'm finding I can't access a bunch of web-sites again.  I've had pretty poor performance over the last week or so.

For example, today I can't get to: http://en.wikipedia.com/

Usually, the problem is that the TelstraClear transparent proxy server on
ge-0-2-0-1.xcore1.acld.telstraclear.net (203.98.50.251) is wedged.

Are others having the same problem?

Adrian

Hi Adrian

I've asked our team but we don't have any wider issues like that at the moment. Would be great to please get a ticket lodged. The best way to do that would be to call 0508 888 800 and ask for technical assistance to report a fault, and that should get you through to the right people.

Cheers

Dylan

Had the same issues in Christchurch over the past couple of weeks ... Steam store page not working, Steam profile/inventory page still not working. I can't get anything from Wikipedia at home, but I can at work???? This is much the same as before with Telstra, but it got fixed after it was on this sites forum.

Wendo, when you say 1% packet loss, are you using ICMP or is this UDP via traceroute?

My reason for asking is ICMP will often be rate-limited on Internet facing/housed routing hardware to mitigate DOS attacks
and sometimes what looks like packet loss is just the firewall between forwarding and control planes chucking
the odd ICMP packet away

Amazes me that they have no internal systems to detect faults themselves.

For me it's just international websites often failing to load (timing out in browser), NZ ones seem fine. Been going on with my TelstraClear cable service in Christchurch for maybe a couple of weeks now. Have no problem if I use a VPN to San Francisco for some reason so I've taken to leaving that on. Happening on both my PC (plugged directly into router) and wife's laptop on Wi-Fi.

I posted a new thread about this same issue, browsing so slow & awkward I missed this thread altogether

So +1 from me on this issue, hope it gets sorted soon, my work from home office has already been affected, have had to shell out for extra mobile data to get by
