Ok, I have a spare 556a vodafone adsl modem.

What I want to do is use a vodafone 3G vodem so I can repurpose this to act as a wireless3G router in a house that does not have a phone line (therefore no ADSL)., i.e. I want it to act as a 3G -> wifi router.

I have set up the 3g Stick on my laptop and I can surf fine.

When I plug the stick into the 556a the HSPA says its connected, however I can not bring up any web pages.

what are the settings I should be using for the HSPA to get this to work.

What is the make and model of the vodem you are plugging into the HG556a?

What I wondering is if the 566a firmware can not drive the 3g stick properly, however I have not found any info one way or the other.
The 566a has AFAIK the latest firmware from vodafone.

Why I am doing this is that I need to have a tablet and an eMac hooked up, and there are no drivers for either of these, hence the use of a 3G stick.

Sounds like the K4201 is not approved for use with the HG556a

I will get you some firmware that might run that stick tomorrow.
I cant remember if that stick does work with it but i would assume that it will given it says its connected. If i plug my Vodafone in it doesnt work at all, So thats a start!
