I don't like Vodafone, but I certainly don't wish something as terrible as ATT on them...

Whoever wrote that clearly lives in the USA...

"But instead of going after a smaller carrier, it looks like the target is one of Europe's biggest, with a potential $60 billion takeover of Vodafone in mind. "

Vodafone is not "one of Europe's biggest". It's the world's largest. Also Vodafone has a pocket full of cash after selling its participation on Verizon Wireless to Verizon for US$ 130 billion.

Although VF will give its shareholders a special dividend of around 80 Bn (USD) of that, soaking up pretty much all of the cash,

Although I cannot see them actually rebranding, otherwise Telecom would be overrun by switichers

If they are looking at Vodafone global then I think they may have miscalculated a few "0's"

The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer

This rumor must of been in the media at least once a year for the last 10 years,

Androidcentral are a bit sluggish out of the blocks as well, this (now dispelled) rumour has been around for some months:

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
