Have we any GZ readers out there in the Taradale, Napier area? And do you have a 3G handset? I'm interested to discover whether 3G has reached the Taradale VF cellphone tower yet. Obviously, I could call VF, but with their present "Full Stop"....er...sorry, "Pit Stop", I doubt I'd get an answer! Likewise, the coverage map on their website is well past its Best By date.
So if you can enlighten me, I'd be most grateful. Laughing

Cheers,

George

If you've got a good telephoto lens you could take a photo of the site and we could at least tell if if there are any 3G panels on the site. That doesn't necessarily mean that the 3G network is live though..

I grew up in Taradale and last time I was there (Xmas) there was no 3G coverage there. From what I have been told from friends still in Taradale there is still no direct 3G coverage, however if you are in the right place you can sometimes get patchy 3G from other parts of Napier.

Hmm....thanks very much, chaps, I guess I'll have to wait a little longer. I was thinking of going wireless with a Vodem to escape our crusty copper dial-up. (Sigh!)

Cheers,

George

Have you checked to see if CDMA EVDO is in your area?

Um..no, I'm trying to stay clear of TCNZ. But thanks for the thought!
