I have enabled the e-mail notification for all incoming calls, but when I dial the voice portal (i.e. dial my own VFX number from my VFX line), I also get an e-mail notifying of the "incoming" call.  I've looked at setting up a rule.  It appears you can only configure it to send a notification for all calls or for certain calls, but not "all calls except...".  Actually where this comes from is that my phone beeps at me saying there is voice mail, but I already receive a carbon copy of messages via e-mail.  So to clear voice messages from the VFX server I need to log into the VFX portal and delete them.  Then I receive the e-mail saying I phoned myself.  Can there be an option/fix for this?

Also, can there be an option so that voice messages get e-mailed and then deleted from VFX?  I do not see myself ever checking voice mail over the phone (but can see a use for it for some people).

Or am I missing something and these features are already there?

Niel, if you dial your voice portal using *62 from your VFX line or 082210 from VFX or some Telco's or 0800141414 from Telco's that 082210 doesn't work, then you will not get email notification for that call.
As for "auto delete message" when you get an email copy of voicemail, this is not possible yet. It is a feature that would certainly be useful and has been requested, but there is no confirmation of if or when such a feature may be released. This was talked about in a previous topic somewhere??

Thanks.  I did not dial *62 because http://www.xnet.co.nz/pdfs/xnet_myvfx_voice_portal_guide.pdf states that you dial your own number to get into voice mail.  Dialing *62 sure is quicker!

The *62 is tricky to find in the guilds, but the other numbers are there in the guild you mention. You can find *62 code mentioned here: http://www.xnet.co.nz/vfx/accesscodes.html

This post is now 8 years old.  Today someone told me when they called and it went to voice mail, they could not leave a message because the mailbox is full.  Glad they told me, I would not have known otherwise.  I'm guessing its been 8 years since I've cleared the mailbox.  Would be nice if this feature got added, so that messages that are e-mailed to me are not also saved in the mailbox.  Or at least to get an e-mail when the mailbox is full.

The feature is there in the xport login. You can set to only send email and not leave on system.

Specifically this option on the portal (You still need to empty your existing voicemail first before setting this):

Thanks Grudge.  I was looking in the wrong place.  Looks like the messages have been accumulating only since end of 2011.

That's about the time I found out about this option and enabled it.  Prior to that, it was a nuisance having to delete the forwarded messages via a phone handset, as well as deleting them from my email once listened to.
