Hi maverick or any other WxC person.

Could you, in the next software upgrade for this device, include a text field to tie a user defined name for a device to its MAC address ?

On the Home menu it shows the tree and all the devices. But for those devices like say, play stations, eft pros terminals, network printers etc, it shows an alphanumeric or some other description such as dhcpclient or new network server or or - anyway I'm sure you know what I mean.

I can select the devices and a new page opens showing details about it. Great - It'd be greater if I could name it. :)

cheers, rob

You can rename them.
Advanced-DNS Server- Click on the little edit (pencil) button next to one of the hosts you wish to rename - rename the host and click OK.

Regards.
Andrei.

FFS - didn't see that !
Thanks for that, grudge.

Ahh - but will it rember the name when a different dhcp # is assigned to it.

Testing

Aha - found the Connection List button on the IP Distributions page.
So I can reserve an IP for each device and rename in the other panel.
A little clunky but it'll do what I want.

Cheers, r
