I remember in the days of telstra clear, they never provided authenticated smtp on a port other than 25 for sending email when outside the telstra clear network.

Does vodafone now offer this for @paradise and @clear email accounts since the takeover?

I just recommend people get a Gmail - Set it up for pop and its all ssl and authenticated so it'll work anywhere and it won't be taken off you if you change providers!

Using your ISP's free pop3 mail account is pretty oldschool and unreliable these days (Xtra!)
