Just curious how long it's taken those of you on VFX to get up and running?  I filled out the online forms today around lunch time, little surprised that as at 5pm I've neither had an email or phonecall yet to confirm the application was received.

Just wondering, is this normal? or am I just impatient (I usually am when it comes to wanting to play with new tech toys!)

it took me a few days, although I didn't do the online form (I just rang up). It took me 2-3 days to find a sales rep  who could do the vfx signup :\

Thanks maverick, there's no real urgency for me personally, just unsure what the expectations were.  Perhaps a suggestion that the online form could email the applicant upon submission and advise that someone will contact them within 2-3 days may just help set the initial expectation with the customer when joining.

A few months ago (around June) it took about 5 days for me.  I've filled in the on-line form, was phoned the next work day to confirm details (actually was alsked all the questions on the form again) and the person made a mistake in the MAC address.  It was a bit irretating that filling in the on-line form was pointless, the person asked me the exact same questions and got the MAC wrong.  A phone call got it sorted 5 days after I filled in the form.

So it does take a few days, and I hope that by now they have sorted the system so you do not have to answer the questions again.  When you get the provisioning e-mail, reboot your device and check that it does connect.  If it does not, phone them back immediately (no point in waiting to see if it comes right).

I double note that; would be great if your online forms fired back a "received confirmation", and better still, a ticket number. Makes following up so much easier :)

If you've ever tried to call Telecom to get a new line setup you'll appreciate that this is quick.

If you pass Telecom Credit (and there has been a line there before), then within 4 hours for PSTN line only connection.

That's pretty quick.

I had a client lose their broadband as they (mistakenly) transferred their fax line (with broadband on it) over to Vodafone.  Transferring lines to a different provider cancels all services (such as broadband, caller id, stepper lines etc).

Took Telecom/Xtra four days to turn broadband back on again (we rang Vodafone to cancel the transfer, so the line never left Telecom).

That shouldn't be the case, the line should be simply transfered to Telecom Wholesale, but Telecom Wholesale can only be as good as the inputter from the GSP. For example I would take a guess that Vodafone asked for a line only, with no DSL. That could take longer to action. For ADSL lines that will take longer, but as a I say line only, 4 hours.

Of course I could go on, but perhaps this if for another thread.

My new connection to VFX only took a couple of days to come online (existing and v happy XNet Customer) The entire process was painless and it seems to work as advertised - great to have all those extra services at no extra cost. - definitely a Happy Camper here!!

Now, if only Maverick and his band of Voip Geeks could come up with a small app for the iPhone that would let me talk on my iPhone over my Wifi through my WAG Box/VFX..... it would be magic!!!   Any other VFX users also iPhone users?  cheers
