Hi team,

I have been given a new work phone recent - iphone 6 - the first one Id care to use on a daily basis myself and I have reasonable amount of personal usage included.

Currently have an open term plan with vodafone and Im wanting to basically keep the phone and pay a monthly fee for the call forward - but not my contract cost as I wont be using it at all except to forward my calls and texts.

This doesnt seem particularly customer centric but vodafone have said they cant or wont do this - I need to remain on contract and pay my monthly fee to accomplish this.

Downgrading to the cheapest monthly contract saves me a bit but not a massive amount.

Are there any hardware or carrier options - vodafone or not - that will work for me here?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

You can't forward SMS at the network level you would need an application on the phone to action this so the other number would need to be on full time,

Why not close down the connection on the zero term contract and request that number to be moved onto your work SIM, This is very easily done but make it clear to your work if you leave you want to take your number with you

Easy as pie and you only have one number and one handset to contend with

Are you under contract? If yes, You will either have to pay to break it early or continue paying the monthly fee you comitted to until the end of you term.

As for the forwarding any calls forwarded are charged per minute (iirc they come off your alocated minutes). SMS messages are not forwarded.

Thanks for your replies guy.

The issues with making my personal number my work number is if I do move on I'll still be fielding calls from my old clients.

Given that I'll be moving to a competitor if I do move not a good result for either myself or the company really

Does Vodafone allow a secondary number for incoming calls/SMS only, in addition to the main number on a single connection?
