Help!!

Our company is in the process of getting out Tech's in the field new mobiles.  All they really need is to be able to make calls, txts and some times photo's.  My main concern is the battery life / talk time as they can spend quite a bit of time on the phone during the day.  The are also mainly Electricains and they can get a bit rough.  Also thinking about car kits / hands free / blue tooth hands free.

Also looking at getting the bosses Blackberry's, are they the best way to go?

Hmmm for bluetooth handsfree i believe sony ericsson ones are the best and i recommend the hbh-gv435 because it doesnt hurt during long hours of constant talking
mobiles i would probably suggest the nokia 6120, the new black berry are kinda good however i wouldnt use it in rough condition as it might get damage quite easily
how about the nokia 6500classic or the s edition? Its 3g and take good photos.
I think with any mobile your getting invest on silicon case or leather case to protect the mobile
The model i meantion isnt available thru vodafone so i am not sure if you mind purchasing thru parallel stores

I think nowadays battery life are quite poor with mobile and if you talk for long hours then probably its best to purchase a desktop charger and a few additional batteries and i am not being negative or anything i wouldnt purchase batteries from vodafone as they are 3 times more expensive than it cost thru ebay and nokia hk.vodafone dont sell desktop chargers but you can easily find some on trademe

Are you going to be going on contract with these and getting them from Vodafone?
Whats the budget the bosses have set?

Hi,

As already mentioned, battery life will probably be the most important thing for you and if you guys are always out in the field then a car charger will probably very useful. I think some car kits also charge the phone while making it hands free but I'm not too sure about this.

Bluetooth headsets are a good idea from a functional and safety point of view as it keeps both hands free and there's no wires to get caught in anything but the headset I have isn't quite loud enough.

If the techs are mostly calling each other then you might want to talk to VF about any deals they might be able to set you up with in terms of phones/car kits etc.. I know there's also a plan for businesses so it's cheaper to call your colleagues.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
