Hello Everyone,

For a while I have been trying to get my $1,500 phone bill down to a more reasonable level, I have been looking for a Vodafone mobile which can provide POTS dialtone, which I can call (via bestmate or Talkzone Zero) and then after a pin number (or caller ID verified) allow outbound calling via WxC.

I eventually gave up, because it seemed everyone I talked to said it was either too hard, or there were hushed tones that Vodafone had come along and put the hard word on them and run them out of business.

Now with Vodafone @ Home, I realise I can get a device which I can then put a sim with best mate on it in it, and plug into another device for dialout.

But I need a device which supports either callerid or pin toll access out, I don't really want to setup a Astrix box, but will if I really need to.

My SPA3000 supports PIN authentication for calls. Theoretically you could hook an At Home box up to a SPA3000 (or the newer SPA3102), dial in, enter the PIN number and be able to make a call via WxC.

Configuring Asterisk to do this is simple but there is no real need since the Linksys unit should do exactly what you want.

The million dollar question being does the SPA9000 allow inbound/outbound access (I forget the term for this, toll call re-routing???) It does have a name I forget for now.

Can anyone test? Does anyone have it setup?

Send chris021 a PM, he's played with the SPA9000's a fair bit.
