Ok, as there were few issues with Vodafone 3G last week and since I didnt knew it, I had called up the Customer Care and they had told me to check out with Vodafone Mobile Connect software (which is not advised for Vodem). Well, though I knew I should not use, I thought why not give it a try.I went ahead and installed it and during the configuration, it had asked whether to optimise my internet connection, I said yes, thought it would make some connection change settings.

Now I have removed this tool and use VMC Lite as the 3G issues are now been resolved and also I came to know later that using VMC Lite or VMC doesnt not speed up your connection, lol. Its the network.

Now what is the problem - that VMC installation and choosing Optimise Internet Connection has made my browsing experience worst!. All the images are looking blurred and bad. In IE 7, I do get the message that - Shift+R improves image quality and Ctrl+F5 reloads page - if I hover my mouse to the image. Firefox doesnt even give any message like that but displays the images same way. Why does this happen even after removing the tool? What has the tool done when installed and didnt do when it was instructed to uninstall it?

Can anyone explain me how to manually disable the compression of images that are being loaded?

(Request to Vodafone - It would be worthwhile doint a test on these things using the software Yell)

Chaks

On the Vodafone forum there's a sticky with this - and look for a post in my blog about Optimiser. By default Vodafone will put a transparent proxy between your computer and the network. This proxy will compress images and content to make things faster and smaller.

That's why you see that message.

You should just open the configuration on your VMC Lite and find where the APN is define and change it according to johnr's recommendation.

freitasm, I am using Vodem with the updated VMC Lite for long time and it just happend now. I doubt it was the VMC that made it and forgot to reset when it was uninstalled.

Hi Chakka,
I am pretty sure that network optimisation should not occur at all when the connection is initiated through 3G (or HSDPA) regardless of APN.  So if you are experiencing what looks like optimisation I suspect that something is wrong with your installation, more than likely because you were advised to install VMC when you are using the Vodem.

My experience of VMC and VMCLite is that they do not uninstall entirely and they certainly conflict with each other if they are both installed.

Two things to try to diagnose it to either the network or your PC are to either install the Huawei ´dashboard´ if you are using Windows, or alternatively, try this Vodafone ´dashboard´ for Linux (Ihave this working great on Ubuntu, not sure about your install though?).

Let me know how you get on...

Thanks for that Maximus, but since things are working now, I am not going to disturb them anymore Laughing
