I have it on good authority that Xnet have a Data Only variant of Fusion available @ $59.95 per month incl. GST + Usage @ $1 per GB.

This is a $10 incl. GST per month saving compared to the standard offering.

Perfect for those who just want a broadband connection and maybe use their Mobile or Skype or some other VoIP provider for their phone calls Cool

You would be correct :)

I'm on that plan at the moment till I sort out my VFX connection

Of course you could always sign up to MyNetFone and choose their $0 per month plan Whirlpool plan with a free NZ DDI. The only disadvantage is that you'd have to pay 5c per minute for all phone calls you make!

That's actually a good idea, I've got my current DDI being ported over at the moment from Telecom though, but could always get the MyNetFone setup on the second phone port on the router

If they had that listed on the site I may have gone xnet instead of slingshot for my naked dsl connection. Ah well, their loss I spose.

Not so sure that was true Richms, we were never going to get your business due to our Static IP policy which i belive you stated on several occassions Wink,

And yes it is always a loss when customers go with someone else, I want everyone on Xnet , VFX , Fusion Smile

Yes I am a employee of WxC (My Profile) ... but I do have my own opinions as well Wink

Yes, but the $10 saving would mean if I cant wrangle a free static IP it would be the same price as slingshot, who i must say have quite dreadful customer services.

edit: and its not the static ip policies, I understand that a static IP has value so you have decided to charge for it, its the fact that I have to get one inorder to get smtp, for my family a static isnt essential, sending via the right email server is. If you could offer smtp without a static then that would be fine. What I find annoying is that it sometimes does work which is why once mum was moved to xnet I thought all was fine when port 25 was accessable when I was there setting up the router, it wasnt till a week later that things stopped sending, I am assuming its because the IP changed. Same at a friends parents place - sometimes smtp, sometimes not. I had to set the internet there up since he is in the UK - thankfully its not an issue for them.

And you still have no warning on the site pre-signup of the restriction.

Are you absolutely sure about this Grant? I just spoke of the phone with one of Xnet staff. They made it pretty clear to me there's no $10 off for not using VFX. Could you please refer me to the statement on Fusion website where it say so?

This was never published on the web site, but was mentioned to me by a senior WxC Staffer about one month ago.  However, since then I have heard that this "Data Only" offering was an opening special to encourage new customers to sign up and has now been discontinued.  Looks like you missed out Frown
