Following from the question, I'm asking how long it takes to get onto VF Live! from their handsets (over GPRS, not 3G).

I remember about a few years ago I set up my mum's parallel-imported Nokia 3200 and it connected in less than 30 sec, but my sister's new Vodafone-branded LG KP202 takes around 2 minutes to get onto the Live! service, and now my mum's one is also slow too.

Has GPRS on Vodafone degraded so much that even a simple service like Live! can't load fast enough?

It's totally inconsistent for me. I'm using a Nokia 6630 (which supports 3G) and it can take anywhere from five seconds to over a minute. When performance is poor switching the handset off and on seems to help, but having to do so is a nuisance.

Even on 3G? Wow. Are you in poor coverage?

Coverage doesn't seem to make any noticable difference. It's just generally unreliable.

On my old Nokia 3220, it would connect in 20s or so.

Two years later, it does not connect any more. It always times out, ALWAYS!! But it is no loss for me, as I never used the service anyway.

Oh yeah..

I hardly go on Vlive because my n82 doesnt support it but sometimes it times out and other times takes 30 seconds but usually below 10 seconds even on 3.5G

On my sony ericsson t610 with the vodafone firmware everytime I bump the non customizable shortcut key and start vodafone live loading it takes 20-45 seconds before there is navigatable content on the screen, and about the same again for images.

About the 15 secs to get navigatiable content between pages on it - and about 10-15 seconds for the icons to load.

I dont know about everyone else, but thats so slow that I would rather not use it even if it was free to get news and emails on it.
