What frequencies do the 2G and 3G operate on?
Thanks.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

This link should have everything you need.

In addition, we are building a 900MHz 3G network which kicks off in April.

Cheers

Sorry dumb question, but for those who aren't techie, please explain the difference between 3G on 2100mhz and 3G on 900mhz.  Is there a difference at all?  Thanks.

You will require a UMTS 900mhz device

Like the Nokia 6121 (already sold by Vodafone NZ)

What about a suitable data card, will you have one?

We'll have cards and USB modems and phones at launch.

900MHz is better for rural/remote network coverage than 2100MHz...

John's not allowed out of the office so he won't need one.

He sleeps in a tent in the basement most nights.

Eh, John? Tongue out

So does that mean my Novatel Merlin XU870 data card will be able to take advantage of the new speeds or will I have to buy a new one?!

Speed!! Do you live in 3G coverage now?

The XU870 does not support UMTS900.

Best to read thread again then after if not clear question away!

Thanks John
