I am relocating to NZ from Melbourne. I am currently with vodafone prepaid, $49/month and $350 credit and very happy. I wrote to vodafone asking if I can use my phone in NZ and they emailed back that they've switched on my international roaming! Does anyone know if vodafone Australia is the same as vodafone NZ and whether I can keep on using my old nokia phone and use NZ vodafone prepaid?? Any help with this would be great, levi

Roaming is not the best if moving to NZ to live (see roaming rates on VFAU website)

Make sure your handset is not SIM locked before leaving OZ

Here is a Link to Vodafone NZ prepay plans and add on's

As johnr says... When you are roaming you pay an fee to place and receive phone calls, plus SMS won't be cheap as a local one would be.

The best thing you can do is forget your number and use a Vodafone NZ SIM card, providing your phone is not locked to Vodafone AU.
