Our VF company liaison informs me (via the VF get together in Taupo end of last week), that one positive thing coming the consumers way is much reduced data charges. He mentioned 100MB for ~ $20/ month. Sounds good. I'll be able to give the Nokia 6121 SIP stack a bit more of a try out.....

My 2 cents: If its $20 a month for 100mb openterm, it sounds good. If its a fixed term only pricing, then in my opinion its better to go for the 200mb plan.

Nevertheless - more choices are always good. As long as they are clearly lined out.

Agree with you Cokemaster, I'm on the 200MB plus they have 'insurance' of $10.00 for a further 200MB so all up I get 400MB for $49.95

That would be ideal - 15MB isn't quite enough for push email and occassional other internet use but 200MB is way too much on a phone!

I agree.   Something has to change because they are almost forcing people into using VoIP etc because we have so much data 'to burn' on the 200MB plan.   And 15MB to 200MB is such a huge jump.   Lucky its not like that for home internet... 1.5GIG plan but the next step is up is 20GIG!   Not only a crazy jump but also shows what data costs them...
