I just tried calling Vodafone Customer Services from my deskphone (0800-800-021) and selected postpaid, then hit '0' for to talk with a CSR and I got a message saying 'Welecome to Salesforce...etc" then advising that they are closed for the day. Who is Saleforce? Where is the Customer Service Dept?

Wow thats weird, I think Salesforce are the guys that are based in Penrose?

I think some of the prepay calls are outsourced to them?

Hopefully someone can confirm this.

Hmm interesting, then again I have never tried dialing customer service using the 0800 number, always 777. Would be good to know though.

Salesforce is a application Vodafone use for the sales team, I use it every day and its a good tool. There is a team that do the admin and I'd imagine the system mis-directed you by mistake to them. Customer Service are still on the number you called.

Vodafone do outsource calls to SalesForce and have done for a couple of years now. The majority are from prepay segments but they can also take calls for certain campaigns.

I tried calling Vodafone again later on Friday evening dialing 777 from my mobile and all worked fine ... unless it happens again I guess I'll never know exactly what happened.

Sounds like your call was trying to be routed through to the Salesforce team to be answered but call routing must have been on the blink
