Just wondering who is having digital TV reception problems in Wellington. There is a message on their phone service indicating some customers might be having problems but it refers to ChCh

In Khandallah my digital service is all pixelated, broken up and unwatchable. Resetting the decoder has done nothing

Just wondering who else has this problem

Thanks

Same here, after being disconnected a few times I am now on hold again. The average wait time is 36 minutes.... 80 minutes later.

I am in Johnsonville BTW.

After 90 minutes on hold, I have been told that there is NO ETA on when it will be fixed. And that I should call back later to see if they will have an ETA.
They close at 1130pm, so I should call no later than 945pm. Oh yeah back on the phone in 30 minutes!

I am now on hold again, while the CSR talks to her level 2. I pointed out that there is not much point me calling back later as I will not talk to anyone as 90 minutes will mean they are closed!

ohhh, here she is again. Second level has gone home! She spoke to a senior CSR and was told that my TV will be working by 'tomorrow morning' Because there is no second level there they will not be updating their website to reflect their problems.

Final advice from CSR, please carry on checking your TV to see it if it working.

*sigh*

OK - looks like it's not just me. I gave up on hold after 40 minutes even though they said ETA was 2 minutes!  Oh well, can watch TV1-3 on Freeview anyway!

In miramar it's been fine all day from what the boss told me, "Wellington CATV in Karori, Berhampore , Burma have degraded service. Our technicians are working to resolve as soon as possible." sounds like somethings not ok in the western burbs!

I had those pixelation with popping sound problem for over a month.  Endless calls the helpdesk were useless they said that nobody else was experiencing this problem.  So I started noting the times and making recordings when it started happening.  It generally happened on Channel 31 (I watch a lot of Rugby League) but my wife noticed it occassionally happening on E! channel.  The problem never occurred on FTA channels.

I called the helpdesk back and they said they'd send a technician.  He didn't know why it was happening but replaced my decoder and did something to boost my signal strength by about 5%.  I haven't had the problem since.  So, problem resolved but not solved.

TCL customer service is horrendous but then so are most telcos.

Our signal keeps doing the popping, clicking freezing thing lately too.

I'm in Lower Hutt.
Have a tech due to arrive this morning although having had the tv on for the last hour the signal is fine.  Generally only seems to occur in the evenings, mostly on things like Discovery, Food TV and various others.

Update:

Had a Tech around, he admitted that there is a known problem in the area with a 2-3 MONTH wait on a fix......

Replaced STB anyway- a lot of money to be paying monthly for a downgraded, faulty service.

One thing you havn't said is if you have Analogue or Digital TV?  Since I have heard the popping issue can be caused by older Analogue boxes that are just about to blow up.

Many months ago I did have pixellation on 1/2/3 during their Digital TV upgrades.  But havn't had that issue for some time now.
