Recently the WAG54GP2v2 has been hard to source for NZ and a lot of them around 500 have just come into our warehouse and around 200 have been shipped out to customers and from what I understand they were supposed to be configured before they were sent out and some more information put in the box. I'm not entirely sure what needs to be done however as no one can give me answers and I work for the distributor.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to the WAG54GP2v2 as this effects me personally as I should be calling up on Monday to have it configured however I might have to send it back to our warehouse to have whatever it needs to be done to it sorted out.

I also just wanted to let people know who have just purchased a unit to possibly hold off calling Xnet to get things setup as they are getting things done really quickly and you don't want to start being billed when you don't actually have a functioning router. This is not to discourage people signing up to Xnet though as I have just done so its rather to ensure no one gets frustrated for no reason.

If anyone can post what needs to be done it would be great and I'll work on getting answers on Monday as to what should be happening.

Most likely it's just the provisioning link that needs to be added in, however it's easy to do have a look at this link and follow the instructions and I think you will be fine.

I'm planning my great leap backward, I mean forward, this week. I've been waiting for this product to come back in stock. Having held off this long, I'm just sort of wondering if any one has any idea how long it is before the new products might be. Or shall I just bite the bullet and order this (or get an AM300 and WRP400)?

HTPC: Silverstone LC16-MR Silver, Corsair VX450W PSU, AMD X2 5200+, 2Gb RAM, Gigabyte MA-770 DS3 Mobo, ASUS 9400GT Silent, 1TB Western Digital HDD, 1TB Samsung EcoGreen, 1.5TB WD external; LG DVD Writer, Hauppage HVR2200, Hauppage T-500, 2xArtical Cooling PSD fans
Work: ASUS UL30A w/ 27" external 1080p LCD display
Workhorse: AMD 3600, 1Gb RAM
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S II on Telecom XT

Stocks are back in now and are being shipped, how long they will take, I don't personally know but the AM300 and WRP400 is a good option as well.

We have a brand new one if anyone wants to buy it at cost, e-mail/message me and I will courier to you.

We used it for testing, but are sticking to the netgears. I'll even stick in the provisioning link in for you :-)

An hour or two too late for me. Although if there is a shipping delay I might see if you still have it

Oh cmon...we gave it a good rework.
Got mine going now - well for internet anyway. I can see that it did need that provisioning setting changed for the config location but the nice vid by xnet is awesome and makes it nice and clear what to do.

Need one for tweaking the QOS now?!?!?! Edit...ok, looks like this thing needs no tweaking??? Is that correct? I need this thing to prioritize phones as we run two biznezez from home. I know its bit of a thread hijack, but yeah, is there anything I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Just a quick note for those that have recently recieved their WAG54GP2v2. The CD and all the information saying 'install CD first' DO NOT read the instructions or even follow them because it then locks you out of your router.

Instead just run the setup given on the website with the wonderful instruction video as I was trying to get into http://192.168.1.1 and the passwords didn't work after using the install disk.... So all I did (well actually my brother) was reset the router and then set it up as per the vid and it all works sweet just need to get interleaving turned off now which I asked to be done and was told it will be around 2 days.

The problem with the install CD seems to be that it makes the router's password blank, regardless of what you type into the program. So you can either login as admin:(blank) or use the reset hole at the back and do it manually.
