OK, I've seen that some xnet staffers frequent this forum so I'll have a last try here before giving up on xnet....

I have been trying to join xnet/worldXchange since my application was apparently approved on the 9th (June). At that time I was told it would be 6-8 days and then they would be in touch with regard to a cut-over date.

Heard nothing so I contacted again earlier this week. Apparently for some mysterious reason our application never went through, or was rejected....or something, they didn't seem to be able to tell me. It was resubmitted, they would call me back.

Never heard. Contacted again. Application rejected by telecom because my existing ISP had been entered as XNET. What??!! I WANT to join xnet, well I did....

ANyway, I guess they were waiting for me to call to tell me this, as nobody was ringing me. ANyway, they would correct, resubmit.....

Sound familar? I'm still waiting. I've now been told 6 times somebody would call me back. 3 of them did. The last guy even sounded like he knew what he was talking about, and did call back the first time, but now all is quiet.....eerily quite.

I've emailed the sales manager. No joy. She thought I was being over the top getting her to email me to confirm they had my email address correct the first time we spoke. Now I guess she regrets giving me her email 'cause she's not answering....

SOMEBODY TALK TO ME!!!!!

Can PM account details, phone numbers, first born, whatever you need......

Hi Smac,

Pm me your details and I'll have a good look at things - username or phone number should do the trick.

Thanks
Cameron

I did get this fully checked out on Friday afternoon and spoke to our provisioning team about the delays experienced.  I apologise for not getting this information relayed to you.

It appears as though Telecom rejected our initial order due to ;

Rejected    18-Jun-2008 1428     Reject Reason: 042 - Wrong order type

We believe this was due to Inspire not being listed as the current third party provided.  This in turn created a further delay, Inspire must be given notice (at least a 24 hour period) before we are able to sent the application to Telecom Wholesale.

I will follow your latest application and should have a date this morning some time.  I apologise for the inconvenience and will follow this up with whomever took the original order.

Thanks for the update.

Any ideas on why the order was only submitted on the 18th after I called, and not on the 9th when it was approved?

I'll be following that up as part of the orginal order submission, I'll have a full explanation of what happened before the end of the day.

We've finally got a date for the transition 25th of June in the AM.  I'll confirm your Fusion details via PM.

Still working on finding out exactly what happened with the order initially, will re-visit things tomorrow (I'll like to make sure I explain it as clearly as possible).

The order is completed in the Telecom wholesale system, are you at home at the moment to test things?

Yep I'm at home. Phone is cut off so something is happening. Still connecting through old ISP though.

Usually the old tunnel continues to work until you restart the ADSL modem or router.  I'd stay on that connection as long as possible to avoid the 30 minutes - 6 hours possible downtime.

However you could risk restarting the router, if you don't connect via the old ISP throw in your Xnet ADSL username and you should connect.  It's good to hear you still have sync though I've dealt with a number of connections recently who lost it on activation - meaning the tech had to be re-dispatched to resolve it.

Just update this thread if you have any issues.

Right then - reset things last night, and all is well, now connected through xnet. Outbound phone line is working just fine.

Inbound we still seem to be operating under the temporary number rather than our old telecom one being ported. Is there anything I need to do to achieve that or just a case of waiting? Somebody mentioned up to 8 hours but it's more like 24 so just wondering in case the mother in law calls Wink

You should find the number is operational again at some point today.  We customerlink the number and have it forwarded to the temporary VFX number (free of charge).  It then take 2-4 business days to complete the number port with the donor carrier (Telecom in this case).

I'll keep an eye on this process, I see we have an order in for the customerlink which should complete soon.
