The 0508 number appears over loaded, and the new TelstraClear user on geek zone has disabled Private message and email so I can't even message them to draw attention to this thread

Out for me in Hoon Hay, was in the middle of ftp'ing a file up and kerbang everything went dead.  Been tracerouting to an IP and all timeout after my network, except for one time I got a single response from the other end fo the link 202.78.155.1 in 2838.533 ms.

Slumming it on GPRS.

Customers may experience congestion between Wellington and Auckland due to a Fibre cut between Wellington and Napier.

Transmission Operations are now investigating.

We are on Christchurch Clear innercity ADSL and our internet just went out also.

Called Telstra and got though the first time, they new of the problem but did not have any details, tried 15min later and the phone system is overloaded.

At least we have a 3G Backup, but when the whole office is using one connection it crawls :(

My Contact with Telstra about this problem, Wrong answer to start with but hopefully a good result in the end

 Customer (Warwick)25/06/2008 03.13 PM
Do you currently have a cable network outage in Christchurch? Our Internet is down and it appears your 0508 number is over loaded.

PS I'm a computer tech so yes I have reset the modem and the router and done all the proper trouble shooting from my end

Thanks

Response (Tammy)26/06/2008 10.48 AM
Hello Warwick,

Thank you for your email.

Some underground work was requested to be completed by the Christchurch City Council, which caused outages in some parts of Christchurch on 25th June. However, your area was unaffected by this work.

Please advise by return email if you are still experiencing issues and I can forward your details to our Customer Help team. Alternatively, please contact us on the number below for further assistance.

If you have any further queries, check out our online help section at http://telstraclear.custhelp.com, or call us, toll free on 0508 888 800, we're available 8am-7pm seven days a week.

Kind regards

I dont use Telstra myself except through work....... and so far I have not been impressed with their customer service. Seems to take us 2-3 attempts to get things done.

Im still waiting on responses to queries from the 11th, which were marked on the 13th as being solved but noone ever contacted me....tried phoning today - "The current wait time is approx 2 minutes" - 15mins later I gave up. Emailed again.... still waiting  (sigh)

At least the network team seemed to be on the ball yesterday, we were only down for approx an hour or so.......
