We currently have our phone/internet with 2 degrees (Snap) and while we are still under contract for another 8 months or so can get a far cheaper deal with an offer from Vodafone - $69.95 inc phone line 2 year contract 100/20 - vs the $120 = $95 plus $25 for 2 phone lines we pay now.

BUT we would quite like to keep our Wellington number along with our Blenheim one and are still waiting for a response several weeks after first asking and getting confusion in response and i cant find anything on the website. Does anyone know if it is possible with Vodafone ?

are you wanting to be able to call out both? or simply have the wellington line redirected?

Yes i agree it should be possible but when they called with an offer the rep didnt know and has never got back to me with an answer. My wife has now had an offer so am asking again - and have emailed the latest Voda rep back also ! We can call out using either number with 2 degrees but that isnt vital although maybe preferable.

I really doubt it'll be able to happen. I'd recommend porting the number for the area you're not living in to 2talk and divert it to your local landline number.

i don't see why it wouldn't be possible for Vodafone to do something that 2 Degrees are able to do and that Snap did before that !?

2degrees have a very nice VoIP setup with their frizbox + Fritzfon integration.

Likely this is outside of Vodafone's provisioning capability on their VoIP platform.

If calling out isn't required, Vodafone could Customerlink your old number (Basically permanent diversion)

Ah i see. Vodafone have now said they can do the 2nd line but want an extra $54 a month on top of the $69.99- hilarious.

Yep, if they are providing another physical line that sounds about right.

To summarise:

1 Wellington number
1 Blenheim number

Both being registered and managed by a box in Wellington, with carriage of call over internet

Voda technology can do it, whether their call plans support it (highly doubt it) is another matter. Call charges don’t care about underlying technology.

Voda will also still respect the telecom calling areas, where you couldn’t have an 03 number moved across town exchanges or regions.

2talk though....

Largely correct except we are Blenheim based. With 2 Degrees and the Fritzbox we can use either line to make or receive calls. We may have to take our numbers back to 2Talk but am also unsure if they support Vodafones UltraHub modem ( i have asked)
