Hey team, I couldn't find an answer in any of the existing threads but if it has been answered, sorry.

Anyway, Vodafone got a hold of me to try and get me to change from our current Mysky setup to their fancy Vodafone TV and I am slightly worried about the recording options, obviously Mysky let's you record and watch anything and save it forever if you like, but when I try and find what options Vodafone TV offer most channels note that the ability to record or not is programme specific.

Does anyone have an understanding of what shows are off limits etc, I understand that TVNZ 1 & 2 and Three are all on demand so that makes sense but I'm more interested in what Limitations the Sky channels have.

Any help?

Also any overall feedback when comparing it to MySky?

Vodafone is trying to sell me on upgrading from my MySky to VodafoneTV - and I'm having the same queries as you. My biggest gripe is the expiry of content that I havent got around to watching. Sky's Ondemand will have content expiring and autodeleting when the rights run out but if I record the broadcast it'll stay there until I choose to delete it.

VodafoneTV appears to have content deleted from its cloud storage when the rights expire too (and that will vary from program to program) unless you choose to "keep" it (kinda like choosing the keep option on the Sky box which then requires a PIN to delete). Frankly making every recording a "keep" is a PITA which I have little interest in undertaking. And like you I'm not sure that I can choose to "keep" every programme regardless of its broadcast origin.

Otherwise it looks similar to a MySky (possibly with more storage - the MySky+ is 120h of HD content vs Vodafones claimed 200h).

Even with the signup incentives I'm not sure that I want to pursue at this stage tho.....

I can’t link directly to it, but scroll down and clik on arrow to right of Vodafone TV Box.

Then get table of channels can record, limited. I believe TV one is just current affair show types, like News etc.

My advice would be to stick with MySky. Keep your freedom.

From chart TV2 and TV3 can’t be recorded at all.
