My wife and I have been in a fight over the IPhone 3G for over a month now. I wanted one, my wife thought it's too expensive. Yesterday I received the DM email from Vodafone re: the $199 price tag and decided that I will go and queue at the Auckland store from Thursday afternoon. That idea of course didn't sell very well with my wife, hence our cold war intensified. Frown

However, by releasing the contract details this morning, Vodafone has effectively ended this month long battle I have had with my wife, as my desire to be one of the first few to own an IPhone 3G has completely vanished. My wife and I are one happy family again.

Thank you Vodafone. Laughing

Good to hear that not all Vodafone NZ's iPhone 3G releases are bad... at least one family is saved!

Next we'll probably see Vodafone NZ help citizens to save their saving towards their retirement (by putting them off buying iPhone 3G)

Maybe we should all just walk down to VF and give them a big hand and a pat on the back for helping us to save for our retirement....

ROFLMAO!!!!

Come on when did we expect our prices would be comparable internationally? At the end of the day Vodafone is a business with very happy shareholders. When there is some real competition in NZ things will change until then.......

<vodafone advertisement voiceover>At Vodafone, we believe you will want to enjoy your life to the fullest. And because our iPhone3G plans are very expensive, we're helping you to invest your iPhone3G fund toward things you want most. Make the most of now!</vodafone advertisement voiceover>

are you serious? is this a joke? are you unemployed so you needed money from your wife to buy an iPhone? fair enough. but if you have a job and your using your own money to buy an iPhone there is nothing your wife can do to stop you. it's your money dude. i wouldn't let any women walk all over me like that.

Married life doesn't work like that. im not even married and i understand! Whats mine is hers, whats hers is hers. very simple rules.... and more to the poin if you have a family and kids and morgage, car replayments etc big ticket purchases are a joint decission unless you like sleeping on your own.

One word - SEX.

You want it, she's got it...and she doesn't mind denying you access either.  Gotta keep the balance otherwise the drought begins and the hydro-lakes start to dry up.

Well, when your wife gave up a high paying career and chose to stay home and look after your offspring, she has every say (and rightly so) on how the money should be spent. And as Chris pointed out, when you're on single income with a mortgage, 2 cars, and a kid, IPhone is considered an expensive luxury gadget. Cool
