I'm moving to VF tonight but would like to keep using my Fritzbox though VF have sent me a modem which I believe is pre configured etc but just wanted to know if someone is using or has the settings required to connect using FritzBox. Thanks

I'm using my Fritzbox 7490 with Vodafone FibreX.
Configuration should be no different with Fibre. Just connect the Fritz wan port to to the ONT, then:
Internet -> Account Information > Change Connection Settings -> Vlan Settings : Tick Use Vlan for internet access. VLANID=10
I don't see all these settings on that page, under internet service provider 2degrees is selected and then a user name and pass under Account Information. Internet Connection - Via an external modem. I guess VF does not require username and pass and I will need to change the ISP to other and then what to select under operating mode and Connection Settings, Downstream and Upstream, same as before?
Maybe share screen shot of your settings page when you get a chance?

Specify whether the FRITZ!Box connects to the Internet itself or shares an existing Internet connection.
Establish own connection to the Internet
The FRITZ!Box disposes over its own IP address range. The firewall remains enabled.
Share existing Internet connection in the network (IP client mode)
The FRITZ!Box becomes part of the existing network and takes over this IP address range. The firewall of the FRITZ!Box is disabled.
You need to click on the "Change Connection Settings" link. Also Account information should not be required. I have mine set to No.

Vodafone authenticate on the port, so they tend to take any PPP details.
Much like we do, long as the data is valid we allow it in. It just makes supporting transfers SO much easier :)
Vodafone do support PPPoE, however their official settings are now IPoE (DHCP)
for all intentive purposes you should be able to just plugin the fritzbox as you do on 2D and it will connect. (2D use PPPoE VLAN10)
If Voice is a concern, that will be where things become complex for you.

I'm not home but internet just disconnected. When moving to another provider, does it disconnect first then reconnect to new provider or what really happens? What is the downtime usually? Hope it gets connected by the time I get home. Fritzbox is plugged in so in theory it should just reconnect to Vodafone?
