You phoned them to report the fault? Just checking first...

Single site outages are generally not reported on the Status page / Vodafone NZ community

Very intermittent, and usually only 1 bar!

I will call 777 again from work tomorrow

Did you write down the fault ticket number for the first call in?

Yeah, Na!

I just assumed I could track it online somehow cry

So, I called 777 back from work today and spoke to a lovely woman.  She asked if I was at the property, except I wasn’t. She explained they need to talk to someone onsite to run some preliminary diagnostics. I explained that we both work full time, but I would be home after 6.  She said to call back then, and I explained the obvious -  that would be very hard to with no cell coverage as we gave the landline up years ago.  She didn’t know what to do with that.

But the penny finally dropped on my tiny little brain; when we gave up the landline Vodafone upgraded the modem, but we also installed a Sure Signal! So how come I had no outgoing call connection?  Got home tonight to discover the Sure Signal power cable has packed a sad (I wonder if this happened early Saturday???).  Replaced the power cable with a suitable replacement and we now have 5 bars throughout the house.  Called 777 and got another lovely lady; she found a fault logged on Saturday but claimed it is reported as fixed a 3:00 am this morning!

If I leave the house and walk to the end of the deck (20 meters +/-) I have NO signal at all on three different phones.

So, I’ll call 777 tomorrow and try again.

If you have an up-to-date enough phone, could always go get a 2degrees Sim - enable Wifi Calling and call Vodafone on an 0800 number?

Coverage must be poor if you have a Sure Signal unit to start with

How long ago did you check the coverage with Sure Signal off?

Not sure i understand the question; we had no coverage from Sat morning until i hooked the Sure Signal back up on Tuesday evening.

Disconnected the Sure Signal after I got it working Tuesday PM and coverage disappeared; reconnected it and all good within the house, but nothing outside (approx 20 meters away). No outside coverage Early Weds AM.
