Apparently you can't have Vodafone Family on an iPhone plan.

Strange I think that a new plan gets cut out of a relatively new deal - unless they're planning on moving away from VF Family in the long term.

Family will be available on the iPhone as soon as testing is complete. There is no plan to dump Family.

With that in mind, I haven't seen anyone mention whether the "add call" function works on VFNZ.

Anyone tried this?

Also Paul, any timeframe for visual voicemail?

Working hard on it but we need to do some rework on our voicemail platform to make it work... Sooner rather later I would hope.

Paul thanks for inputs along the way.

Visual VM and Conferencing (merge calls) are two features that are extremely attractive.

Any updates on timeframes when they become firmer would be great

Same thing, I'm afraid... working on testing and implementing them now and up and running as soon as possible. It seems the iPhone treats quite a few services quite differently to existing infrastructure so there's quite a bit of work being done bringing these services online.

I had a YouChoose Plan + VDF Family and an outright iPhone with dataplan. What happen to that VDF Family add-on in that case ? Everything still owrking ok ?

Actually, I had my account setup that way and this

Currently you can't do Family with an iPhone at all. You can still use the other phones but not an iPhone until we get through with testing.

Thanks for responding. But I assumed you means Call Conferencing and features... or you means the actually billing system.

I have use iPhone since launching with Vodafone Family and my bill still stay right for the last bill cycle.

I'm talking about the iPhone 3G - are you using the 1st Gen model?

We cannot offer Family on the iPhone at this stage. Testing continues. When it's done we will be able to but for now, no, we can't offer Family to a customer using an iPhone.

Strange enough I'm using iPhone 3G at the moment.

What would you suggest me to do now?
Ring 777 to cancel VDF Family ? I don't want the other ppl in my family complaint about their bills at the end of the month.

Paul, isnt the family plan a billing issue rather than a handset issue?, I have used many phones whilst being on the Vodafone Family plan, everything from a Blackberry to a basic Nokia 1100. Not previously has vodafone advertised the family plan as requiring a certain handset for functionality.

Are you saying that if I was to buy a Iphone outright (as I am seriously considering), and put my you choose sim inside, that Vodafone family wont work, and my other family members will not continue getting free calling between each other whilst I pay the $20 p/month charge.

I cant see why the vodafone family plan wont work, what does it have to do with the handset?, what do all of the other handsets like basic Nokia 1100's have that an iphone doesnt have?

The Botany vodafone store confirmed for me that if I was to put my current you choose sim in a iphone 3g, that all of my current vodafone subscriptions would continue, apart from the local zone product, as the iphone doesnt have this functionality? Is the store incorrect??

If as you say, and iphone wont work, then I will need to be like all others and put off the purchase until a later date.

Interestingly on the iPhone 250 plan VF Family worked for the first couple of days (someone else in the group on Prepay could call/txt me no problem despite having no credit) after switching handset/plan.

A few days later I (and everyone else in the group) received an SMS saying that the number +6421abcdefg had been removed from the Vodafone Family group and normal call charges would now apply.
