So, with no notice at the start of the school holidays Vodafone switched us from the Vodafone copper Red network to the Chorus copper network (Fibre is currently being installed in the area and is at the cable dangling from pole stage. Chorus website “Fibre broadband is coming to your place December 2019”).

This killed my Draytek Vigor 130 and Ubiquiti USG setup (DSL connection will not synchronise LED blinking).

Sons Freak-out school holidays no Fortnite

Son contacts support, connects Vodafone Ultra Hub and gets internet working (slow with a heap of disconnects for the first few days but is stable now ADSL Ping 15ms Download 8.80Mbps Upload 2.02Mbps) Fortnite playable, yes I live in Auckland.

Question is will the Draytek Vigor 130 connect to the Vodafone network through the Chorus copper network?

Reading the following forum it doesn’t look promising.

i seem to recall another thread where this came down to transit modes.

Double check your using ATM 0.100 not PTM.

Isn't this where you need to set  VLAN Tag ID 10?

for adsl it's ATM not PTM, so no tagging.

Technically vodafone will do ATM 0.110 vlan10 PPPoE. but that's kinda an unsupported configuration.

Thanks for the reply, does this change between the Vodafone red network and Chorus network?

Shouldnt do.

What i suspect is you had a non standard setup that worked on red network though.

I've been having a play and I can get an internet connection between the Draytek Vigor 130 connected to windows 10 using PPPoE Pass-through but can't connect in MPoA Bridge Mode, is this something Vodafone still supports?

Sounds like your configuring it wrong.

Vodafone allow PPPoA 0.100, PPPoE 0.110 (vlan 10) and DHCP 0.110 (vlan 10)

Change Encapsulation to 1483 Bridged IP (IPoE) or LLC. And test. Also change VCI to 110.

What ever config you use, get it working direct off the Draytek first, i.e. computer will just plug into Draytek, get a private IP and connect to internet. Once that works, tick "enable bridge mode"

Are you sure that you definitely have ADSL and not VDSL? As the upload speedtest in your first post is impossible to get on ADSL unless you have annex M. But AFAIK Chorus dont support annex M.

ADSL max upload is around 1.2mbit

The DV130 supports VDSL so might as well use it if you have it.

That's a good point... would explain it all.

in which case you just want standard bridging PTM, VLAN 10 PPPoE/DHCP
