DL AM speedtests were done at 11am this morning.
DL PM speedtests were done at 9pm this evening.

Both are download tests to various locations in NZ & International.  The speedtest were run 2-3 times for each location in AM & again in PM and then averaged.

NB:  Uploads and Latency was very similar for both AM & PM ie +/-10%

This has put the last nail in the Xnet coffin.

I too exercised my right to walk....this afternoon to xtra......I sure hope they are good, cos now stuck in a 12mth contract, with a $150 break fee.  Hooked up on Monday PM.

Daytime performance was great,  evening performance sucked.

Yeah, xnet (WXC) was good in that respect as they had no contract when I signed up (not sure about now).

Contract only applies if youre a new customer in the last month or so....if youre an existing customer, youre not tied to anything.

I walked to Orcon two weeks ago.   No contract and promises of their unbundled network attracted me...    So far so good...

I disagree that you pay for what you get...   Orcon is costing me no more that Fusion + tolls did - but the service is soooo much better..

Telecom better wait until they sort out their problems before they change me over...it supposed to be Monday evening.

I am going to be pissed if they change me over when they dont have broadband service

It was a brief outage and not something that is very common so you should be ok.

Please post the same graphical speedtests when you are on Xtra!

I would find it halarious if xtra got a couple of sales staff and set up a stand outside the xnet head office and offered to sign people over. Just for the fun of it.

Here is the graph updated with Telecom download speeds now incorporated.  Did repeat test ie. speedtest late morning & again in evening.

As you can see, it appears that Telecom download speed is good in the evening compared to Xnet.

Pings on Telecom are about 20-30ms higher than when on Xnet, not so good for gamingCry

Overall glad I changed.
