Ok so,

I am currently on pre-pay and spend about 10-20 mins max on the phone per month. I have 1 bestmate and 2000 text. I just bought a Nokia 5800 and want to have push email on it.

Is there any point changing to a plan? Starter 2000 is $30 a month and I want more than 200mb but not prepared to pay for 1gb. I'm sure there used to be a 500mb plan?

Ideas?

Not sure if there was a 500MB plan, it would probably have been the same price of the current 1GB one...

Why not get the 200MB and add $10 more to get 400MB in total? That should bring you close enough to 500MB for $39.95 (24 mth contract)

Tip: If you change to On account from prepay please don't let the store give you a new SIM

Get Starter 2000 online - then go to a Vodafone shop and get the 200MB mobile data plan added. Think that's how you would do it.

Do it online but don't let them issue you with a new SIM

Credit cards and credit checks - which reminds me of a long awaited question: are under 18s allowed to get On Account accounts?

Get the account in your name but owned by a parent. (You as the phone user)
Then transfer it once you are 18.

Hmmmm

Wanted to get it without parents. My problem is I have a part-time job with a very good weekly income. Damn I want / need to be 18! Tongue out

Because vodafone cannot hold you to the term contract being that you entered it when under 18, there are so many issues with under 18s and contracts that its easier to say no then to consult with someone that knows on any issues that they may have.

Really, the number of under 18's where it would not be stupid to extend credit to is so small that there would never be a return on it, and the number that screw them over (since there will be no defaults on their credit record yet) would be so high that they would never see any profit from them.

Really they just need to sort the prepay offerings so they suck less.
