Sigh. Yet again Telstraclear is being useless in its routing to australia. Apparently its out of their control but it seems to happen very often on their network and is incredibly annoying. Other ISP's dont seem to get this issue as often...
Internode below is one example:
  1     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  RTA1025W [192.168.1.1]
  2    13 ms    31 ms    13 ms  218.101.61.22
  3     *       12 ms    11 ms  218.101.61.161
  4    12 ms    12 ms    12 ms  ge-0-2-0-1.xcore1.acld.telstraclear.net [203.98.
50.251]
  5    12 ms    11 ms    12 ms  203.167.233.10
  6    36 ms    35 ms    35 ms  i-9-1.wil-core02.net.reach.com [202.84.219.109]

  7   194 ms   193 ms   194 ms  i-11-1-2.hkhh-core01.net.reach.com [202.84.141.1
65]
  8   195 ms   193 ms   194 ms  i-13-1.hhtstcbr02.net.reach.com [202.84.154.190]

  9   195 ms   196 ms   195 ms  internode-RGE.hkix.net [202.40.161.74]
 10   215 ms   216 ms   216 ms  pos4-3.bdr1.syd6.internode.on.net [203.16.211.13
8]
 11   216 ms   217 ms   218 ms  pos4-1.bdr2.adl2.internode.on.net [150.101.199.2
30]
 12   216 ms   216 ms   216 ms  gi1-24.cor3.adl2.internode.on.net [150.101.134.5
0]
 13   216 ms   215 ms   215 ms  internode.on.net [203.16.214.17]

Trace complete.

Come the end of this month and i think our contract will have expired, in which case i might start looking for alternatives.
I sent off an email to telstras rather unhelpful support team, who still havent replied to the last two issues i reported.

Interesting to see just how different the routing is. TCLs is way off the mark.

Seems like a obvious routing problem between reach in sydney and internode.  I doubt Telstra can apply much pressure to reach to make it a priority to fix it but you never know.

It seems all of TelstraClear's routing issues are with Reach. Do any other NZ ISPs route via Reach?
