I just had a quick look at the VF website and the info says I have to get roaming setup on my account. I can't remember having to do this last time - we just went overseas and I was able to use my phone in both Singapore and Indonesia. The website mentioned I have to give 777 a call a few days before travelling to get it set up....whoops! We're off first thing tomorrow morning! How does this work? Has anyone had any experience with this? My partner's account is a transfer from prepay to account - it was able to roam on prepay, not sure what's happened to the account now, if it's still able to roam...

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers,
D.

if you're on prepay, you have to fill in paper work etc to get it roaming anywhere else other than Australia as far as I know. Hook it up to a credit card etc, so they can send you a bill for roaming.

If you are on account and requested roaming it should remain active for good unless you request the service to be removed

Both of us are on account now but hers was a number ported from prepay to account. She was able to roam on prepay, we just need to confirm that she can roam with the same number now that it's on account. I guess we just need to give 777 a call tomorrow...

Its not called porting its called prepay to postpay or postpay to prepay migration

Porting is only when you take a number to another carrier.

Roaming take 10 seconds to add to a on account connection

Why the long delay? :-P

At the end it could be up to 2:30 hours process really - it takes at least this long to get to our nearest neighbour country by plane anyway...
