Hi

COuld someone who is on an XNet ADSL connection please check for me that you can access www.dyndns.org.  At the moment I cant from my ADSL Connection on XNet, but a machine on an Xtra connection can, as can my servers in Auckland:

A traceroute from here gives:

  1    <1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  ml370g4.request-it.local [10.0.0.2]
  2     2 ms     1 ms     1 ms  192.168.0.1

Appears to be anyone using ANC for international bandwidth - currently investigating the issue.

If you need access to the site you could use a anon http proxy - http://www.the-cloak.com/anonymous-surfing-home.html

Curious as to how long this issue has been around - I did receive a notification e-mail from dyndns a couple of months ago,, advising that the dyndns entry I had would be released becuase it hadn't been accessed for a number of weeks.

My ADSL router has been setup with the appropriate dyndns settings, but haven't actually used the dyndns service as such since before xmas.

Though I would have assumed that since the dyndns settings are actually configured in the router, it would access the dyndns service on a regular basis to keep the IP translation current.

Should this issue not be on the XNet network status page?

I've logged tickets with DYNDNS as well - we use their DNS services for a lot of domains as well, a ton of customers on Xnet/iHug/Vodafone/CallPlus have been calling us about it

If only ISP's would get rid of crap carriers like ANC :(

ANC? I'm from South Africa and did not know the African National Congress is now stuffing up the internet! (Not being racist, just joking, I've got many African friends.)

The reminder e-mail should be only if you do not log into DynDNS for a few months. They want you to log in and confirm you still want the URL. Unless you have a paid account.

Does anyone know since when the issue occurred?

Niel: Should this issue not be on the XNet network status page?

Not sure XNet really care as this is the reply I got back earlier this morning

Hi there,

Currently there is no known issues on the network.
I cannot get to that website either, i have just had someone try on a NON xnet connection and they had the same issue.

Hope this helps

Brad

I asked if they could please see if they could inform their upstream suppliers

Looks like this issue has been resolved - we are now able to access dyndns.com/dyndns.org.
