Wondering if anyone else has tried the IP04 devices from Atcom with more than 1 VFX trunk?

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=65&TopicId=29072
Have followed the above link and can get my first VFX trunk working, however, when I setup my second VFX trunk, the system seems to fall-over a little.
Basically only one trunk seems to effectively register properly.
- both lines seem to register
- but one line seems to take priority
- if I dial either line, the call comes through always on only one of the numbers - which ever trunk seemed to register correctly.

EG: have 974xxxx & 950xxxx. 974xxxx seemed to take registration priority. If I dial 974xxxx, IP04 sees as incoming on 974xxxx, but if I dial 950xxxx, IP04 also sees this as incoming on 974xxxx.

Hopefully there is a work around to get both trunks registered & authenticated independently.

Hiya - how did you go with this in the end? I am installing a IP01 and having a few problems (mainly with incoming calls being dropped a few seconds into a conversation).

Cheers

Not yet, but I'm planning to have a play with alternative firmware by these guys:

Did you try registering the trunks on different ports?

It is not a ports issue. The problem is no "auth ID" in the GUI, so you have to add a workaround for it to register to WxC. This workaround will only work with one trunk.

This may be a firewall issue; what kind of router are you using?

With these devices they only support a user ID, WxC uses separate User and Authid as well as password, this is purely an extra level of security that we use within our network to protect customers, with the amount of SIP fraud being attempted we think it is more than prudent to adopt this.

Unfortunately not all IP PABX vendors allow this, which is really taking short cuts with security in my mind.

If the call is dropping after a few seconds that will be because the SIP ack after a 200 OK is not being received, this is common if SIP is working correctly due to configs or SIP natting.

For DVX we support proper SIP trunking not the common hack which others seem to try and pass of as SIP trunking where you register all DDI's this is not SIP trunking !!!, this means that really only the trunk number is registered, you do not need to register all DDI's and all messaging is done via the single registration,

Yes I am a employee of WxC (My Profile) ... but I do have my own opinions as well Wink

Hiya,

@cofeebaron - we have a Linksys hub/modem on top of a 24 port Cisco switch, I haven't touched the rudimentary firewall in the Linksys at all

@maverick - I'd like to move our trunk to your service (you sound like you know what you are doing ;-), but I assume from your comments our ATCOM won't work with your service? Any ways to get around that?

Cheers,

Gwilym

Who is your current provider?

How many trunks do you use? WxC will work on this device, but one trunk only.

I suggest you open a new topic if you would like to troubleshoot your issue further, as we will likely go off topic for this one.

I will post back an update on here if / when I can get multiple VFX trunks working on this device.
